Leah Koski (NewSense) is a professional educator and performance artist based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Her most recent work includes choreographing and performing in Hip Opera with Opera Grand Rapids. With a deep passion for movement and expression, Leah draws inspiration from music, abstract art, breaking culture, emotion, and her students.
Leah’s unique style reflects a versatile training background in breaking, ballet, jazz, and contemporary dance. She is equally dedicated to education and performance, creating classes that foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for students of all backgrounds and abilities. Her teaching emphasizes respect, discipline, and self-expression—cultivating not only strong dancers, but confident individuals.
Actively competing in breaking battles and choreographing for local performances, NewSense continues to push creative boundaries while preserving the cultural foundations of hip-hop. With over a decade of teaching experience, Leah is passionate about introducing authentic hip-hop dance and culture to the Ada community.
